Functional Nutritional Scanning
A non-invasive Skin Carotenoid Score, taken with a handheld scanner.
The Pharmanex Scanner is a handheld device that measures the level of carotenoid antioxidants in the skin.
Using safe, low-energy blue light and Resonance Raman Spectroscopy, the scanner provides a Skin Carotenoid Score (SCS) that indicates the level of carotenoids present in the skin.
It’s a non-invasive tool used to monitor the effectiveness of nutritional interventions and motivate individuals to increase their intake of fruits and vegetables for a healthier lifestyle.
Lauren also refers to this program as biophotonic scanning.

What a scan is like
- You place the palm of your hand on the handheld scanner.
- The reading takes about 30 seconds.
- Non-invasive — safe, low-energy blue light. No needles, no blood draw.
- Your Skin Carotenoid Score is discussed with you afterwards.
Scans are done in person by appointment. If you are outside the Pace, Florida area, ask Lauren on a Discovery Call what is possible.
